As we start our annual programs and activities, we invite you to join us in the effort of advancing the accounting and finance profession.  Although we always focus on all levels of the profession—from C-level executives to young professionals to students and academics—this year we are focusing on developing a stronger relationship with our young professional and student members. We want to invite and encourage our senior members to get involved in mentoring and coaching those that are exploring their future in the profession.

We want to invite our DFW young professional colleagues to explore the programs and benefits that IMA has to offer: job postings, scholarships and awards, internships and mentoring, student leadership opportunities, networking with other students and young professionals and with senior level executives, and the CMA Certification.  As president and a young professional member myself, I’ve found that the membership and continuing education provided by IMA has helped me stay current on the topics affecting the profession and impacting the business community.

This year we would also like to develop stronger relationships with other professional organizations in the area.  We welcome any suggestions for joint activities that any of our members would like to propose.  We are also offering more ways to stay connected: via LinkedIn, Facebook, Meetup.com and e-mail – as well as our usual face-to-face opportunities:  Monthly Dinner Meetings, Happy Hours, Luncheons, and Conferences.
